Market America a Global Product Brokerage and Internet Marketing company that specializes in One-to-One Marketing, is seeking an experienced Buyer – Purchasing Agent for our Purchasing and Sourcing Team.

Position Summary

The Buyer places orders for finished and raw materials. Maintains proper inventory levels and successful vendor relationships. This role will work with Receiving, Inventory Control, Accounting, Quality Control, and Vendors. The Level I Buyer must have ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.

Key Responsibilities

This role will build, maintain, and evaluate supplier relationships.

Review purchase requisitions for accuracy.

Purchase finished products, supplies and services at the lowest possible cost consistent with accepted standard of quality and service within established time frames.

Coordinate return of rejected, unsuitable, or damaged Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) and overstock/over shipped RMAs.

Maintains awareness of current market conditions, new products, and supply sources to support the business and the independent business owners for Market America, Inc.

Education and Experience

High School diploma or equivalent required

Associate degree or greater in a business-related field preferred.

Two plus (2) years of Commodity Purchasing Experience preferred.

Or a combination of equivalent experience, education, and training

Preferred Skills

Proficient use of MS Office programs: Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

Above moderate level of proficiency in MS Excel

High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted strategic projects in conjunction with day-to-day tactical activities.

Ability to get along and work with diverse personalities; tactful, mature, flexible.

Above moderate to high levels in reading comprehension, writing, and speaking in English; active listening; attention to detail; critical thinking; mathematics, creative problem solving; complex problem solving; and judgment.
