Market America | SHOP.COM, a Global Product Brokerage and Internet Marketing company that specializes in One-to-One Marketing, is seeking an experienced Sourcing Manager to assist the Jewelry division of our Purchasing Team.

Position Summary

The Sourcing Manager will work collaboratively and proactively to identify sourcing and contract opportunities, and to develop and maintain a strong supplier network. This position requires strong sourcing, procurement and negotiation skills in the fashion jewelry industry. This position will be responsible for project managing new innovation product launches and be accountable to deliver them on budget & on schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•Develops and manages sourcing strategies in alignment with brands founder and Director that support financial and quality metrics

•Collaborates across internal team members in Product Development, Creative and science throughout the product life cycle

•Oversees and manages overall Design Development/Global Sourcing (DDGS) Development and Production Time and Action Calendars to ensure they are in sync with each brand’s business needs

•Ensures quality standards and processes are prime focus for vendor and that quality shipped is to Market America standard

•Serves as a key liaison for day to day global sourcing operations and work effectively with cross-functional partners at overseas offices and agents

•Maintains seasonal production calendar to ensure deadlines are met

•Develops negotiation and costing skills; responsible for achieving financial targets for a specific category

•Maintains product cost updates and communicate with product development regarding requested costing options

•Aligns tasks to achieve on-time delivery and quality product for the product approval process

•Maintains commitment schedule for products reservations and long lead times based on direction from management

•Maintains WIP (work in progress) tracking for layered

•Understands relevant import regulations, duties and customs regulations as well as current trade agreements with sourcing countries

•Knowledgeable in fashion jewelry production and costing for product categories

•Expedites and monitors sample development progress and alert appropriate partners if delays or problems arise

•Identifies opportunities to improve the efficiency of sourcing processes and present to Director

•Works closely with brand founder and director to ensure individual and team’s goals support corporate objectives

•Complies with company policies and procedures.

•Performs other duties as needed.

Primary Contacts (outside dept.)

•Receiving, Inventory Control, Accounting, Quality Control, and vendors.

Supervisory Responsibilities

•None, but may direct or train others.

Education and Experience

•Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent related experience.

•10+ years experience in the fashion jewelry or related industry preferred.

•Experience in international vendor relationships, supply chain, purchasing and negotiations

•Strong MS Word and Excel needed

Skills

•Thorough knowledge of purchasing and negotiating methods, principles and concepts.

•Experience and exposure to supply chain concepts and methodologies and manufacturing.

•Requires Brand Building experience including style introductions

•Strong networking skills and the ability to form partnerships/strong diplomatic skills

•Excellent Analytical and Communications skills
